10 Can’t Miss Indianapolis Summer Festivals

    Summer is festival season all over the country. Pretty much any interest you have somewhere across the country will have a festival celebrating it. Luckily, around the Indianapolis area there is an abundance of great festivals for people of all ages and interests. You probably won’t need to find a reason to travel further than across the city! We’ve compiled a list of 10 but definitely check out your community for even more great festivals!
    6/21 PBS Kids In The Park – This festival is at White River State Park. It’s a fun filled day with tons of activities, bands, and character meet and greetsribfest for the kids!
    6/28 Hendricks County Rib Fest – At Kingsway Christian Church in Avon. Local barbecuers offer their best to eat. There are plenty of activities for the family and the evening is capped off with a fireworks show!
     
    7/3 CarmelFest –  Takes place at the Carmel Civic Square. The event kicks off with a walk and run in the morning. There is music and food throughout the day and evening.

    7/10-7/20 Indiana Black Expo – This huge annual even takes place at the Indianapolis Convention Center downtown. Admission starts at $8. Join people from all over the state!
    7/19 Festival of Arts – This art festival takes place in Brownsburg featuring an art show and many bands. Admission for people over 12 is $3.
    7/25-7/27 BBQ RibFest – This huge barbecue festival is held at Military Park for the 17th year. It’s a one stop shop for any and all things barbecue. Admission for adults is $7
    7/30   Indiana Microbrewers Festival – Another festival at Military Park downtown. Microbreweries from around the state feature their beer. This event is 21+ and tickets can be purchased online.state fair
    8/5-8/21 Indiana State Fair – People from all around the state come to the fair at The Indiana State Fair Grounds. Check out the schedule online for discount days and entertainment.
    8/16 WammFest – WammFest takes place at Craig Park in Greenwood. Enjoy wine, beer, art, and music. For those over 7 early tickets are $10, tickets at the door will be $15
     
    8/18-8/26 IndyFringe Fest – This giant festival takes place along Mass Ave for a week in August. This festival celebrates the performing arts. Comedy, drama, and dance are among the many talents showcased.   indy fringe
