The day of love may have passed us by last weekend but that’s no excuse to let the flame fizzle in the winter chill. Indianapolis has multitudes of fun and cozy things to do to keep the romance alive until the weather warms up. We’ve compiled a list of our 5 favorite winter dates in Indianapolis.
1. Coffee Shops
There is something cozy and romantic about sitting in a cushy seat with a warm drink just talking to your love. We even have a list here of our favorite coffee shops in the city.
Indianapolis brags some of the best museums in the country. When the snow swirls outside it’s the perfect time to go inside. You can museum hop along the White River downtown. The NCAA museum is interactive for a fun, playful date, or the Eiteljorg, right down the street is a unique fascinating look at Native American art. There are museums scattered all around the city so you’re sure to find one that interests you.
Movies are the tried and true date night but if you want to step up the average experience Indy has options! The United Artists theater at Circle Center is the perfect spot for an after dinner movie or to find some after movie drinks. On the Northside there is Studio Movie Grill where you can do dinner and a movie all in one. The Landmark Keystone Arts theater at the Fashion Mall has foreign and independent films if you’re looking for something different.
4. Ice skating
Finding a frozen pond isn’t advised but there are several options of ice rinks across the Indy metro. Bonus: You get to hold hands with your date as you try not to fall!
5. Downtown Strolling
If you’re brave enough to venture outside a stroll around one of the cute downtown districts around Indy can be a pleasure. Maybe grab one of those hot cups of coffee and wrap yourself into your date’s arm. Zionsville has a charming downtown and the Carmel Arts and Design district has many galleries to wander through. Then there is the tried and true Mass Ave with all of the restaurants to chose from and the shops to browse.
