Ronda, Linda, and I just got back from a fabulous week in San Francisco for the Inman Connect Conference. Though much of the conference was about technology and best business practices there were a couple resounding themes from all of the speakers. Culture and authenticity were brought up by almost every speaker who took the stage. It felt like the speakers were speaking directly to us. Our team highly values culture and we work constantly to improve the culture of our team and office.
As I reflected on the week I realized that even though we each have our set of core values posted on our desks they aren’t something we’ve shared outside of the team before. So in the spirit of being authentic I thought I would use this week’s blog post to share the House Hunters Indy core values and what they mean to us.
Whether it is calling a new lead or getting advice from a team member we know that communication has to start on our side. In our business, and personal lives, it is important to keep lines of communication open!
We are so lucky we have such a strong team (coming up next) but the team can only be as successful as the weakest member. The team success can only come when each person on the team is doing their best.
From advice for a client to a weekend away we know we have 6 other people we can turn to. If one of us takes a vacation there are 6 other team members to step in and make the sale go smoothly. If one of us needs advice on something that has come up during a sale there are 6 other team members to turn to.
We want every moment of our time with a client to be a “wow” moment. As a team we pride ourselves on having amazing customer service and creating a fantastic real estate experience for our clients.
A new lead comes in that you’re nervous to call? Make it happen. An inspection comes back with a long list of repairs? Make it happen. A sale looks like it’s not going to close? Make it happen.
Our business can’t grow unless we are constantly changing. We want to have a culture where no one feels silly bringing new ideas to the table. We want team members who are open to learning new things and trying new things.
A negative environment can affect every bit of your life. There is no room for that in the House Hunters Indy Team. There is a silver lining in every situation and we always try to find that. We want to inspire not only our other teammates but our clients too.
It is important to remember we wouldn’t be in the position we’re in without our amazing clients, our rock star teammates, and our supportive friends and family.
Since we came up with these core values a little less than a year ago it’s incredible how often I find myself saying them to myself or a teammate. It has surprised me how much they apply to my personal life too. We started with the thought of the culture we wanted to have and these 8 phrases have intertwined themselves into our lives and business.
